Maiden of the castle is an audible story that features in my Uni-album. I firmly believe that all the art we birth through ourselves are communicating to us on a spirit level. I have often felt like I have been "channeling my future" in my creations. Stories have the power to carry ageless metaphors and symbols coded inside them.
Maiden of the castle represents the journey of transformation.
Everything begins in the castle.
The castle represents our safety zone.
It is what we know to be true. It is what we already created. It is familiar to us. That is where the transformation begins. The maiden experiences the yearning, a calling, for something she doesn't even know how to describe. That is her spirit longing for transformation. It shows up as anxiety, unsatisfaction to what is, feeling like something is missing. The inner conflict has begun.
In her dreams she sees colorful visions - her spirit communicating to her of her dreams.
Our spirit can take us far and off - it can fly us to another land. The maiden sees adventures and thrilling locations in her dreams, where she has embodied her transformation. But once she wakes up, she forgets them. That is when we don't allow ourselves to go there. That is when we choose to stay numb, choose to not look more deeply. We choose to be blind to what is calling for us. Yet - the inner conflict stays, the anxiety remains. This is the paradoxical story that can happen in our lives - we are more asleep in our daily life than in our dreamtime. When the busy mind gets a chance to stop, a deeper voice whispers to us in hope of getting heard.
The star emerges in the sky one night, this is the Spirit's Desire.
Encouraged by the star, the maiden climbs out of the tower. She enters into the unknown with the momentum of her courage. The desire gives her strength to move out of her comfort zone. She climbs out of the tower and enters the forest, the unknown. Often there is something that pushes us out of the comfort zone - it might be pleasant or not. We might get all excited in one moment and decide to take the leap. Or then something comes and forces us out of the window.
The forest represents our inner world in the unknown. When we enter the unknown, our inner world reveals itself. At first, the forest is a dark, scary place. This dark part of the forest is the challenge we meet in the journey of transformation. Challenges arise because they are parts of us that are ready to transform.
The maiden doesn't know where she is going, is overwhelmed by her fears, yet she can't go back either. At first, her solution is to run. But as she jumps into the bush, she enters a space of silence, of presence. How do we deal with the challenges that arise?
In that moment of silence, she hears her inner voice. This is where deeper listening happens, where she learns to hear the sound of her essence and follow it. Connected with her inner voice, the maiden follows it's guidance into the forest. At this point we allow ourselves to see the challenge without running away or denying it. That is where solutions can arise.
As she is following the voice of her spirit, the forest changes. That is what happens when we align to our decisions, when we have committed whole-heartedly to our path - the world synchronizes with us. It is when we start receiving help in magical ways, signs enter our path and things flow in a miraculous momentum.
The maiden keeps walking into the heart of the forest. There she comes to the pond, the lake, which is our core self, a deeper layer of ourselves. We are all ultimately longing to journey deeper into what we really are.
When the maiden sees her reflection on the pond, she sees herself after the transformation, with new eyes. When we walk through the journey of transformation we always go deeper into ourselves and as a result we become more of ourselves on the outside too.
The tears, transforming into pearls on the surface of the pond, are ultimately a symbol of transformation - also indicating the power of our emotions. When we allow our emotions to move through freely, they communicate with our deeper self and they truly transform into healing energy.
